Spanning 1600 square miles in Eastern Venezuela, Lake Guri and hundreds
of its islands are completely man-made. Cartographers have already
re-drawn their maps, but transformation of plant and animal life is
still being charted. Every time he visits, Terborgh sees dramatic
changes.
