I remember one day
this 1st Sergeant was talking about gooks. To show you how naive I was,
I didn't know that gook was a racial slur.
I didn't really
understand that. And one day he was talking about gooks and I remember,
a light went off in my head, and I said, "Wow! A gook is the same thing
as a nigger."
