ARMY: The name "Oleo Strut" came from a shock absorber on a helicopter.

So that's what
the Oleo Strut was. It was a place where you go there, and they sold
sodas, and they had a record player, and all the latest rock records,
and underground papers, and such.

Fort Hood was
both a combination of guys going to Vietnam, and guys who had been to
Vietnam and came back.
