By then, America
had over a half a million troops in South Vietnam.

But during the
lunar new year holiday called "Tet," the
enemy, the North Vietnamese and National Liberation Front armies,
launched an offensive that overran the entire country before being
pushed back.

The Tet Offensive revealed that the enemy had widespread
support from the Vietnamese people ...

and America was
mired in a war it couldn't win.
