By comparison, the first plane to crash into the World Trade Center was recorded on video, because a cameraman heard the plane before it reached him. The microphone of his video recorder also picked up the sound of its engines.
However, that plane never came closer to him than about 1,000 feet. Whereas the plane at the Pentagon was only inches above the cars.
