Librarian's Comment:
White America is
busy, busy deflecting the race blame. A lot of white people on TV seem to
feel that the race issue is verboten in this country, that it is
impossible that Bush could have acted in a racist manner when he put every
obstacle possible in the way of helping the people of New Orleans. So they
are quick to jump to his defense. Gawdang, they're all jumping like little
jumping beans. You'd think someone was standing behind them with a whip
and telling them to "jump!"
I guess white people think
they have to stand together against the criticism of silly,
misinformed black people, and of course, that's not racist. I certainly
don't see any of them standing next to black people to oppose Bush, no matter
what their political persuasion, no matter how severe their criticism of
Bush's handling of this sad affair. It must be very galling to be a black
person and have to listen to white people correct their view after all
they've been through, after all they know. White people are so arrogant,
they think they know more than black people, and they're going to
set them straight. And of course, that's not racist.
George Bush is going
to drown our whole country in his goddamned Southern Strategy. Look at
where we are as a nation again? All embroiled in race issues. Whites
against blacks, blacks against whites. Bush will never never never!
Is this his new method for doing redistricting, and wiping out blocks
of democratic voters? Deny infrastructure money to areas that are solidly
democratic? Refuse to save their lives in a disaster? Not to mention the
idea that he may have actually caused the hurricane in the first place
through weather manipulation. And all the enslaved media going along with his plan to always
be pitting us Americans against each other so we'll never take care of the
important things in our country. NEVER, NEVER NEVER! You've even got
people like Howard Dean saying Bush is not a racist, because he's
not an overt racist, "though his actions contribute to harm for Black
Americans." Who does he think he's kidding? We should all be so
impressed with how obedient HE is. I'm even arguing with my
husband over whether "we get anywhere" by saying Bush is a racist.
Hell,
where do we get by saying he's not? Another New Orleans? Get anywhere
with who, all the white racists? Unless we face up to the
racist facts, we will be pawns in Bush's hands FOREVER, FOREVER, FOREVER.
Race hatred will bring down this planet, and Bush will be our leader.
The fact is, the Bush family are
well-known, long-time racists of the most virulent breed. Get your heads
out of your asses, all you stupid idiots! With Hurricane Katrina, Bush
not only got the blacks, he got the French as well.

Update Re
Catastrophic Structural Floodwall Failure Caused Floods -- October
7, 2005: All the money in the world couldn't prevent a floodwall
being breached if someone purposefully wanted to explode it. This money /
funding issue is a red herring. And so are all of the scientific
catastrophic scenarios prior to Hurricane Katrina. Remember the Pentagon?
The missile hit right on a wall that had just been recently strengthened.
Also, to say "catastrophic structural floodwall failure" is just a nice
way of not laying blame. That might be fine in the beginning, but
eventually we need to get around to seeing that there is no reason in the
world why these walls should have catastrophically failed on their own,
which is essentially what they did in what we now know was a Category 1-3
storm. We need to look for an act of intentional terrorism, and not
disregard all the earwitnesses who heard explosions, the guy who found
explosive residue on the floodwall debris, and the fact that the 17th
street floodwall breached three hours BEFORE the hurricane hit. Mayor
Nagin is an idiot to discount the testimony of his own people. All of
these news articles are essentially misinformation.
The people who did this are very cynical, hateful people who capitalized
on the lack of funding issue, and the catastrophic hurricane scenarios to
blow the floodwalls and kill thousands of black people. Now look at how
confused everyone is with all of the erroneous information swirling in the
wake of the flood. -- Tara Carreon
