ATTN: Tenzin Wangden Andrugtsang

I am interested in whether the Dalai Lama endorses His Holiness Orgyen Kusum Lingpa as a pure spiritual teacher. Can I safely study and take empowerments from him? Is he in fact a terton? Can he be relied upon to teach me the correct path to enlightenment? There has been some controversy, and that is the reason I am asking.

Dear Tara, Thank you for your email. I am to inform you that Orgyen Kusum Lingpa had been a genuine spiritual teacher when he first arrived from Tibet. But recently, there had been some controversy surrounding him. For that reason I would advise you to seek some other Lama's guidance in your spiritual pursuits.
